Introducing Domik Ptashki, a unique birdhouse designed by Igor Dydykin. This project aims to provide a safe and comfortable habitat for birds while promoting a harmonious coexistence between humans and nature. With its innovative features and thoughtful design, Domik Ptashki stands out as a testament to the importance of sustainable living and the preservation of our natural surroundings.
The round shape of Domik Ptashki reduces the impact of rain, snow, and wind, ensuring that the birds inside are protected from the elements. Its low center of gravity allows it to be securely placed on a tree without the need for additional fastening equipment. The reinforced inlet hole further safeguards the birds from potential predators, ensuring their safety and well-being.
Utilizing the principles of design thinking, the project team behind Domik Ptashki conducted extensive research to create an ideal nesting place for birds. They studied natural habitats, interviewed ornithologists, and examined successful examples of artificial birdhouses. Through this research, they developed a concept that combines functionality, durability, and aesthetic appeal.
Constructed using carefully selected types of wood and coated with eco-friendly protective layers, Domik Ptashki is built to withstand the test of time. The design, in the form of an octagonal prism, not only enhances its strength but also simplifies the manufacturing process. The attention to detail and commitment to using sustainable materials make this birdhouse a true embodiment of eco-conscious design.
With a height of 290mm, width of 220mm, and depth of 220mm, Domik Ptashki provides ample space for birds to nest comfortably. Its collapsible design allows for easy removal and cleaning at the end of the season, ensuring a welcoming environment for birds year after year.
Domik Ptashki offers a unique opportunity for individuals to connect with nature and take on the role of an ornithologist. By observing and caring for the birds that inhabit this birdhouse, people can expand their perception and gain a deeper appreciation for the beauty and importance of the natural world.
The Domik Ptashki project, led by Igor Dydykin and his dedicated team, started in February 2019 and concluded in December 2019. Throughout the process, they overcame various challenges, including finding the right balance between a natural habitat for birds and a stable structure that can withstand extreme temperatures and climatic changes.
Recognizing its exceptional design and contribution to sustainable living, Domik Ptashki was awarded the Iron A' Design Award in the Pet Care, Toys, Supplies, and Products for Animals category in 2020. This prestigious accolade is a testament to the project's commitment to excellence and its positive impact on the world.
Domik Ptashki is more than just a birdhouse; it is a symbol of our responsibility to protect and cherish the natural world. By providing a safe haven for birds, this design encourages a deeper connection with nature and fosters a sense of harmony between humans and the environment.
